Safety

Safety at a worksite, in a workplace or at home is paramount, and Hire-it takes the safety of its employees as seriously as the safety of its customers.

An important part of safety in any workplace is that all equipment being used is fully functional and well maintained. We have a strict routine of checking all our stock to ensure that any equipment we hire out or use in-house is fully functional adhering to equipment specific safety regulations as well as Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations.

Another aspect is correct use of tools and equipment. Hire-it promotes using the right tool for the right job every time, which is part of why our range is so comprehensive. Also, our employees are trained in the use of all our equipment so that they can properly advise a customer of how to use anything a customer is not familiar with. Our staff all receives hands-on training with equipment and are educated in by the book Workplace Health and Safety regulations.

We also recommend viewing our How-To and Equipment Video pages to watch professionals use the equipment you hire for the right job in the appropriate manner.

Well-maintained tools and a strong understanding of its intended use is the very definition of 'safety'.

Service and Maintenance Policy

All equipment at Hire-it is maintained as per manufacturer's specifications unless otherwise instructed to meet OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) and WHS regulations.

All major maintenance and repairs are only carried out by qualified and accredited staff. All details of any work carried out is recorded via job cards and stored as set out by OHS and WHS requirements.

All equipment is checked and tested prior to every hire and that test is logged in the register with the operator’s name. Electrical testing is performed prior to every hire by qualified licensed staff only and the test is logged in the Electrical Test register.

Any device, tool, machinery or product of any sort that does not meet manufacturer's specification or comply with any OHS or WHS directive is appropriately tagged and removed from service immediately.
